Equal Employment Opportunity (Discrimination): Most EEO/Discriminatory investigations emanate in the workplace and involve claims of discrimination or unfair employment practices. Fraud: Fraud investigations include identity theft, unscrupulous business practices, trademark infringement, financial schemes, and employee embezzlement cases. Immigration: Investigation of immigration fraud (marriage, document, and employment), defense of people charged with immigration offenses, and other related investigations. Insurance: Insurance investigations normally begin at the request of an attorney or insurance company and generally involve accidents, injuries, arson, deaths, etc. Locate and Missing Persons: Using public record and commercial databases, interview of witnesses, and other investigative techniques to locate people who are missing, either voluntarily or involuntarily; may owe money; or are merely an old friend who you would like to re-contact. Real Estate: Orion International Corporation has investigated a dozen cases for realtors who want to determine whether their listing agreements were violated by buyers and sellers who colluded to defraud a realtor out of their listing fees. Theft – Internal and External: The theft of money, property, and other things of value by employees or others. Hardly a day goes by where one of the major Montana newspapers don’t have an article regarding internal theft or embezzlement. Recent cases include Babe Ruth volunteers; community Service Club Treasurers; bar and restaurant managers and employees; health clubs, retail establishments; shoplifters; and office managers for doctors, dentists, and attorneys. Worker’s Compensation: Normally involves surveillance of an insurance claimant and the interview of witnesses to determine whether or not a claimant suffers the injuries that he or she claims to suffer.
